Welcome to the

River Valley District

 

In north central Kansas, we cover Clay, Cloud, Republic and Washington Counties.  The Republican River runs through the heart of the district affecting the nature of many of our agricultural practices.  The Little Blue River runs through the eastern part of the District, and the Solomon River just clips the southwest corner. 

 

Our programs include, 4-H and Youth Development, Crops and Livestock, Health and Nutrition, Home and Family, and Lawn and Garden area.

"ALLERGY ATTACK"
Thursday - May 24 - 7:00-8:00 p.m.

This class will address common childhood food sensitivities & allergies and how the provider can accommodate these situations.  Completion of "Allergy Attack" will provide 1 hour of KDHE approved Health, Safety and Nutrition childcare in-service hours.

As part of the "I am Moving, I am Learning" curriculum, "Opportunity Knocks" addresses childhood obesity and how the childcare environment can help children learn healthy practices.  The fun-filled, music-and activity-based curriculum is designed to supplement and enhance existing early childhood curriculum.  Completion of "Opportunity Knocks" will provide 2 hours of KDHE approved childcare in-service hours.  Two DVD's of the music used in the training will be available to purchase at $15 each.
